Sandhills Children’s Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time teacher to join our team in a 3–4 year-old classroom. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit developmental day center serving children with and without special needs in an inclusive, nurturing environment.

Qualifications:

* 4-year degree in Birth–Kindergarten, Elementary or Special Education


* Current Birth–Kindergarten Teaching License/Certification or Elementary or Special Education certification (required)


* Experience working with young children in an educational setting


* Strong commitment to inclusive practices and supporting children of all abilities


* Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills

Associate Teachers & Substitutes

  • Hours: Part-time

  • Salary: Commensurate with experience

  • Qualifications:

    • High School Graduate

    • Experience working with preschool-age children (Birth -5 years of age)

    • Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development

    • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

    • Demonstrated organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to multitask

    • Self-motivated and able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

    Responsibilities:

    • Work within our daily daycare functions, policies, and procedures

    • Assist Lead Teacher in educating and supervising an assigned group of children at all times

    • Assist Lead Teacher in developing a program of attainable educational goals appropriate to the age and developmental level of the assigned group of children

    • Assist Lead Teacher in the safekeeping of equipment and material accessible to children

    • Assist in overall planning for the use of shared space in the daycare center

    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with parents

    • Maintain records and share with appropriate staff members

    • Participate in related training opportunities as they become available

    • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Director
