The Sheri Davis Fund consists of unrestricted gifts made by loyal friends of Sandhills Children’s Center who offer consistent, unfailing support year after year and is named for the first student who attended Sandhills Children’s Center.  Recurring gifts to the Sheri Davis Fund ensure that no child will be turned away regardless of a family’s inability to pay for services. Currently, the average cost of care per child with disabilities exceeds $60,000 per year. State and local funding now covers less than one-third of our operating budget, making private support through annual gifts more critical than ever.  Gifts to the Sheri Davis Fund make available flexible, immediate-use dollars to:

• Provide financial aid for children with special developmental needs
• Further our vision to be a recognized leader and preeminent provider of educational and therapeutic services
• Enhance teacher and staff life through professional training  
• Advance our mission to serve children with and without special developmental needs
• Support our areas of greatest need

Individuals and organizations who make an unrestricted annual gift of $1000 or more in a single fiscal year (July 1-June 30) to the Sheri Davis Fund are recognized as the Center’s most committed annual supporters.  Donors to the Fund provide leadership each year in their designation of annual support for the Children’s Center’s core values and mission. These generous contributors, bound by their shared commitment to Sandhills Children’s Center, stand with the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors to address critical long-term or immediate needs to advance Sandhills Children’s Center’s mission and sustain its unique and special place among North Carolina’s leading developmental day programs.  These loyal friends are recognized at one of the following levels of giving for the year in which the gift is made: 

Partner:           $1,000 up to $4,999

Leader:            $5,000 or more
