Giving to Sandhills Children’s Center
Anybody who has ever had a child in their life knows that all children in their own way grow up to be special. There are a few children, however, with the love, skill and help of some very dedicated people, who grow up…just to be.
At Sandhills Children’s Center, the very essence of the work we do is to “help children with disabilities grow up to be ordinary”, for our mission is to provide every child with the best start possible with personalized attention from highly trained staff and therapists in a play-based environment.
Sandhills Children’s Center provides comprehensive services to children and families throughout the south central region of North Carolina. These services are provided regardless of a family’s ability to pay. The cost to provide quality services to children with disabilities far exceeds the reimbursement rates from Medicaid and private insurance, making it necessary to ask the community to support these necessary programs. Currently the cost of care per child with disabilities is $60,000 annually.
Gifts to Sandhills Children’s Center’s Annual Fund and Sheri Davis Fund provide the resources to serve the children on a day-in and day-out basis. Contributions to support the Endowment Fund through bequests, life income gifts, insurance policies and other estate planning vehicles guarantee the continued success of Sandhills Children’s Center and we are appreciative of those generous donors who are supporting our future. Friends who are making legacy gifts to the Sandhills Children’s Center in their estate and financial plans will fulfill their philanthropic goals by helping the Children’s Center meet the needs of thousands of children and families who will need services over the next century.
